Floor plan level is showing reflected ceiling plan level

Going to try and make this simple.  Under "Floor Plans" in project browser, I have a level or plan called "floor plan".  Under "ceiling plans", I have a drawing noted as "reflected ceiling plan".  I noticed on my building sections and elevations that the level at the floor plan is noted as "reflected ceiling plan".  When I'm in my floor plan drawing, and click on a wall, the base constraint shows reflected ceiling plan.  When I click on RCP, there is a drop down that I would normally change wall base constraint to floor plan, but there is no "floor plan" to choose from.  When I go and try and add a new level to my section or elevation, and name it floor plan, it tells me that name is already being used and to use another name.  So how did my floor plan get on the RCP, and where did the floor plan level go?  All my exterior elevations and building sections shows the floor level as RCP

View tab => Create Panel=> Plan Views => Reflected Ceiling Plan.

Point is: Floor Plan and Reflected Ceiling Plan are 2 totally different things.

Almost sounds like a renaming snafu.  Verify the "Associated Level" Name in the Level Properties.

I agree with @barthbradley that it probably happened when prompted to rename levels after the view was renamed. I see it quite often when people don't read messages and just click OK.

Thanks for your response in answering my question.  Unfortunately I know just enough about Revit to simply produce simple project.  While I appreciate the responses, it told me what happened but not sure it told me how to fix it.  It the reason I say that is I just don't understand the mechanics of Revit.  I had to manipulate or "lie" to the system in order to get what I was wanting.  It's like changing a dimension to say something other than the true dimension, and I really don't like doing that.

The fix is to rename the level or the view, whichever one has the wrong name. The WHY it happened...

In a simple project with two levels, Level 1 and Level 2, you can create a floor plan and ceiling plan for each. By default the views will be named the same as the levels. If in a elevation or section view you decide to rename Level 1 to First Floor Revit will ask you if you'd like to rename the views that have the same name as Level 1 too. If you choose No you end up with a Level called First Floor and a floor plan and ceiling plan called Level 1.

Now imagine that instead of renaming the level you rename the floor plan called Level 1 to First Floor Plan. Revit will ask you if you want to rename the corresponding LEVEL that the view is associated with...because it too has the same name as the view. If you choose Yes then the level will be renamed to First Floor Plan instead of Level 1. The correct answer to that question is No, don't rename the level too.

When a level and view have the same name Revit will ask you about renaming the "other" when/if one or the other is renamed. If no level or view have a matching name Revit doesn't ask about renaming one or the other. When you're just beginning with any software, make sure you read and understand every message/question it asks. If you don't understand it then try to reverse your steps so you can find out what it means before getting too deep in unknown waters.
