Fix roof position

Hello,

I am adding new layers into a roofs build up and I want them to just go internally. Can you fix a roofs finish face like you can a wall as each time I add a layer it goes both up and out, as opposed to just adding it to the internal face?

It depends on the type of roof you are using

  1. If you use roof by foot print, it will extrude up when you add layers
  2. if you use roof by extrusion or by face , it will extrude down when you add layers

No they cannot behave like walls because walls have a location line which drives how the layers are added relative to this location line

An alternative to roof by footprint you can use floor elements. Floors stack layers downwards

Hi @RDAOU ,

Thanks for replying to me. I had assumed so but thought I would check in case there was some setting I had missed. It is a roof by extrusion I am using in a pre existing model and due to planning the roof can't go any higher but it needs added thickness and it's fairly complex to re model. I had planned on just of setting the roof from its level by however much extra depth I added. But this doesn't account for sideways expansion with the pitch, not a big thing but still not the best solution. If there isn't a way to fix the roof outer face that's fine it was just in case there was a way it would make things a tad easier.
