Hatching dots after linking AutoCAD file/Missing components

I currently am working on a project that involves linking an AutoCAD file to a Revit model. After linking, there are these colored dots that show they are from the AutoCAD file when hovered over. There are also some components from the CAD file that are not appearing on the Revit model.

Its most likely a layer that was turned off in the .dwg file. I've also had issues in the past with .dwg's that contained Xcliped blocks.

When you imported the CAD which option was chosen under Layers/Levels?

I have the best results from fully cleaning up the CAD file in AutoCAD before importing.
