Find Item From Schedule In Project?

Hello all,

I'm coming new to a large project in Revit and have a task to review external and internal doors. Trouble is, I have no idea where on the building most of these doors are, but I can see them in the schedule. Is there any way I can select a door in the schedule and Revit will show me this in plan (or whatever view it can)?

If you select a field in the door you want to examine, then go to another view and click on the selection box (it's on the modify tab), it will open the default 3d view with the door you're looking for isolated. The door will be already selected so you'll see it highlighted in the views where it's visible.

Of course Revit can do that!

When you click on a row in a schedule, there is a button that apprears at the top right of the (contextual) ribbon saying "show in model"

what if the element in the nested link file, how do you find it?

Sometimes Revit says "No good view could be found" and then you're out of luck....

Create a new 3d view, Phase = the latest, Phase status = Show All, all Worksets open, no hidden categories.

How about if you want to locate a receptacle (or any other item) on the model from the panel schedule. Basically, I can see the item described on the panel schedule but I don't know where it is on the model or the floor plan. Thx

This deviates from the OP, but to answer your question, use the Systems Browers which creates a tree view of the circuited electrical system whereby you drill down from the highest level to the individual elements on each circuit, from there you right click on them and pick 'show' which opens a useful view to display and select the element.    

View > User Interface > System Browser
