Filter a Schedule using a logic "OR" instead of "AND"

Is there any way of building a schedule that is filtered using a logic "OR" instead of "AND"

We want to schedule out Rooms that satisfy a limited range of parameter values initially just two will do, but it begs the question whether it is possible to filter using a list of acceptable values such as

...Where Parameter.Value IN(ValueA, ValueB, ValueC, ValueD...)

I seem to remember this from SQL many moons ago!

Any suggestions appreciated.

Cheers

It's now 2020. How is 'OR' not a function in the schedule properties?? This would be such a simple change. If Autodesk spent as much effort giving users what they want, as they do trying to convince users to go through convoluted roundabout 'solutions', Revit would be as easy to use as an iPhone. How is the most expensive software license in my office also the most frustrating?

Its now 2021. This should have been addressed.

Maybe it will be done to celebrate a millenium of Revit development by Autodesk in 3002 😋 🤣?

You can choose to wait, or you can use a workaround.

Hi, its 2021, it would be great if we could have an "OR" operator for filtering Schedule Properties!

I'm not being political here, but just sayin'... "Four more years (NOT)! Four more years (NOT)!

Sorry... I meant to quote this post (which I guess didn't include OR for schedules):

OR filters are currently being worked on.  Check the Revit Roadmap.

What I did to get around this was to create my view filter in 3D to show only what I want in the schedule; this filtering will allow OR's to be used.

Now you can select everything and add a comment to it.

Next go back to your schedule filter and and the "Comments" field (Note: if you don't want this as a column showing in your table, all you need to do is go to the Formatting tab, select the Comments field, then check the box Hidden Field.

Lastly go back to the Filter tab, filter by Comments with Contains and then type in the same thing you added to all the selected parts.

Hope so this helps!

I voted for that function to be implemented but lord, a filter without OR condition seems ridiculous

This was discussed in 2011 and probably by then it had been requested for years. It is February 2023 and I am just testing with Revit 2023, there is still no way to filter with "OR", I just can not understand this lack of functionality at this software price range

Is this not in the features yet? Still in Roadmap?

Yes, we are still waiting on this game changing line of code. Who would have thought that implementing an or parameter would take so long.

I only took a couple semesters of programming but I would have probably failed if my projects were missing this many basic features.

I did some research on this, and this is my report: Reading the history of this idea since it was proposed, I see that it was proposed as "OR in filter rules" but the idea did not specify if it was for View Filters or for Schedules or for both. Then in 2016 the status changed to "Under Review", then soon after the status changed to "Approved", then it was implemented in Revit 2019 but only for View Filters. I don't see that "OR" feature for schedules has gone through the same process in the roadmap. And I just checked the current roadmap and I did not see OR for schedules there.

I think we have to wait until AI takes over the coding...
