Filled / Masking Regions not visible in project

Has this happened to anyone? A filled / masking region does not show up when dropped into a project plan view. But when I drop one into a virgin project with the same view template, it works perfectly.

Points that were checked -

1) Active and visible Workset

2) In View Template - Detail Items are turned on

3) No filters

4) Even switching/removing the template did not help

5) Visible lines were used to sketch the outline

Figured it out - it was a rogue filter that was getting in the way. Removed it and all worked properly again.
