Hi forum. I have a model i would like to export and render and when i try to export it as an fbx file it is greyed out. I am in 3d view and still greyed. Any ideas ?
Hi Toan Thanks for the reply i tried to open the attachment but no go. I am still a little lost as to how to get a stand alone 3d scene could you please show me some steps as to how to achieve this. i have had a look at the help sections an still come across the same problem. I know i am missing something. Thanks
Hi Toan managed to open the file thank you very much. I am still reasonably new to revit and working my way through the workflows. I am still puzzled as how to get to the export stage as i followed the help info and no better off i know i am missing something.
I just opened the 3d view and exported to fbx from the export menu. There is a 3d view and a Sheet with the 3d view placed on it. You must open the view, not the sheet.
I have recently encountered to the similar situation. I was sure to be in 3D view but the menu item was disabled. This problem disappeared when I simply restarted Revit. Coming back to the same view and now the menu was available. For your reference.
You need to install Revit Materials Library (probably was deleted before by user). FBX export can not be executed without textures from Material Library
