Family Materials not showing correctly

Hi guys,

I'm having trouble with a planter box family I put together which is not showing materials correctly. The plant part I did not create originally, but I added to a new family with planter box.

The material on the leaves shows up correctly in one project (model 1), but not in the other where it appears wireframe (model 2) and I can't figure out why, any pointers? I'm assuming that this is related to project settings rather than the family since it shows up correctly in one but not the other.

Thanks.

Apologies if I'm missing something obvious here, what do you mean by "assign materials"?  In this particular family there is no parameter which allows me to apply materials in the project file.

It could be a corrupted View. It happens.  Recreate the View where the leaves are transparent and see if that resolves the issue.

One is Realistic, the other is Shaded.  Check the leaf material's Appearance Tab and make sure it is configured correctly (i.e. with a color/texture/bump and not 100% transparent).

@ahowell7ESTX

If you have downloaded the plants from a site like BimObject or similar than those plants are most likely Directshapes (non-native Revit objects). Check the the visibility settings of the Direct Shapes in plants family.

Usually such families display the direct shapes when view is set to FINE...when view is medium of coarse the shapes are hidden and model lines or detail lines are displayed instead => the wireframe look you have in image 1
