family line issue

I have created brick pier family part, when i added the material i created a line type to illustrate courses when in hidden line mode. When i come to add this to my model the lines are not displaying anyone got any ideas why this is?

Okay, I'll take a guess...is your view cut plane cutting through those piers, instead of positioned in front of them?

No? Have those piers been assigned the material?

Instead of defining and assigning a material to the solid in the family, simply associate its Material property to a material parameter. Then lLoad the family into the project. Then, in the project, select the family and set its material.

Hi..

Consider 

Pier - Material 1 - no hatch

Loaded in the project ( showing no hatch )

Later you changed the 

Pier - Material 1 - with hatch

Loaded in the project ( shows no hatch ) cause "Material 1 - no hatch" is still driving the material in the Project..

solution is to updated the "Material 1 "in the PROJECT... not in the family..
