Family is not following the desired view range

I've made a family but when I insert it in a project and I go to a level it shows the whole family and not only what's specified on the view range (in this case I dont want the rebar's hooks to be shown in plan) . I don't know if the problem is that "When cut in plan/RCP" of those components is not checked but it is grayed out so I cannot check it

Thank you for your help

the hooks will show if the family or part of it is within the view range (Cut Plane and View Depth Plane) and that is the case with the column you have there

Some categories also show if they are above the cut plane...

You shouldn't need to worry about them considering that they will be concealed/hidden by other elements anyway (such as a foundation or a floor slab...etc)

If you insist on making the hooks not to show / invisible, you can (you might need to model in 2 parts (the top vertical which shows always when cut and the bottom hooks which you want to hide) and

  • Set their Visibility setting not to display in Plan view

  • Or model the rebars as shared nested family and place the extrusion of the nested on a subcategory which may be switched off in plan views

Try the attached revised Family (Rebars has been split and part below floor level set not to display in Plan/RCP)

Change the family to a cutable category such as Generic Models.
