Hi there,

I am experiencing issue while transferring Revit project from one device to another.

This message appear ' FAILED TO OPEN DOCUMENT ' I was trying to detach the project from the central file but the options are grey out.

I also tried to use the Transmit Model tool but the end of the window is cut from the screen. I attached the screenshot related to that .

Is there any easy way to transfer project ? Which is the right procedure ?

One possible solution is to try clearing your temp file as sometimes too much temp file can result in less memory and such issues happen.

Another solution is to try auditing and opening the files as sometimes it helps. If your Revit Central file is on a Windows Server, try to recover the previous version of your Revit file before the appearance of the “Revit Failed to Open Document” error message following these steps: Go to the path folder of your Revit Central File Right Click on it > Properties Navigate to Previous Versions.

In addition, you can look at the link: "Failed to open document" when opening or synchronizing a model in Revit (autodesk.com)

Let me know if you have more questions on this topic, otherwise please accept as a solution so that others can benefit from this information.

Thank you @FuldenYilmaz ,

I did try this solutions but the same message appear.  There must something I do wrong when I save the files.

Do you have any tips on how to export the project in order to share with others?

Thanks again for your help @FuldenYilmaz

Is your file a central file?

I am not sure about that.

From my understanding Final.topo is the central file while the others are backups (see the screenshot attached ).

Thanks again @FuldenYilmaz

I owe you a short if you look at it.

However, when I re-read your problem, I realized that you can't see the transmit button.

Solution: If you are using dual screens, you will reach the button when you move the window to the other screen. If it's a single screen, I suggest you change your screen resolution.

Unfortunately I 've tried to change the resolution but that didn't help as well.

I am working on a single screen.

Sorry if I bother you again @FuldenYilmaz

Do you know how to save the files in order to detach it from the central file?

- To use Transmit a Model tool, you need to close out all Revit files from the Revit session.

- To save the central file detached from the central, use Save As and enter the Detach from Central option; or close the file, reopen it with Detach from Central option.

Yes, You can use detach method.

Open Revit.

Click the Open button.

Select workshared central file (If your file is central detach is active)

click Detach from central and then click open

when open the document, save as the file.

That's all. But your question is not related to workshared file. Your problem is related to directly e-transmit window, isn't it? I do not know how do you change the window scale on the screen. Maybe you can hide window taskbar and move the transmit window little upper.
