Is there any way to make a face based family that keeps the sides parallel and vertical but the top face attaches to the floor face?

Thanks!Revit_wQbBZ3OxlL.png

Check if your family reference place are set to an angle?
also check if there are anything driving your family to be at an angle

I'm using the face based family template. I don't think there are any angles set in place... Should I be setting some angles? A little more info would be helpful. Thanks. Revit_roBuhZRuv5.png

Edit the  family and tick Always vertical.

I don't think that option is available in the face based family. This is my goal essentially:
-> Purple follows face
-> Green stays vertical

What exactly you are modeling?  With what you show, if the sloped surface is a ceiling or floor then model the vertical element as a column and attach the top or base to the slope.

There are Revit Lighting Families available on-line that pivot. The pivot angle is parametrically controlled.  You can build it yourself too.  Download and reverse-engineer one that does pivot to learn how to do it .
