Exporting demolished phased elements to ifc

Hi everyone, we are facing a problem when exporting to IFC, i know revit wont export demolished phased elements as revit reads them as non existing elements, i went on checking for work arounds, i found:

  •  Creating a project Visibilty parameter called (Demolish) and changing elements phase.

but this is not so practical at all for our project.

is there any other possible work arounds out there?

Thank you

IF you want to export the Demo Separately as a package:

  1. Set view to Existing
  2. Phase Filter to Show New
  3. Create a view Filter (AND Rules)
    • Rule: Phase Created = Existing
    • Rule: Phase Demolished = None
  4. Apply Filter to view and uncheck visibility to isolate demo
  5. Export Phase Existing to IFC

The above will export the Demo only

Repeat to export New Construction Complete (ie: Existing + New)  and overlay both in model

  • Open the Demo.ifc.rvt (generated when the IFC is linked into a Revit
  • Change the Phase Created and Phase Demolished
