Export Mesh as Quads

Hey All,

Does Revit only export the model from a 3D view in triangle topology, rather than quads? I know nothing about Revit but need to get the model out of Revit into Cinema4D.

I've tried the various export formats - dwg, fbx and obj. I tried the "ACIS solids" option for DWG but just got a bunch of splines/lines when imported to C4D. I'm trying to get a quadrangle topology on the mesh so they can be displaced.

I've also tried linking the Revit file to 3DS Max Demo and exporting out from there selecting the "Quad" option on export but no luck with that.

Any pointers would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

That option is already un-checked. Its the structure itself, walls, roof etc that I need to fix, not the ground.

If you have access to the whole AEC collection you will also have access to Recap Pro/Recap Photo.

In Recap Photo you can import a mesh (fbx, obj, stl). Then you can export it again and you will have the option to export as OBJ(Quads).

Never needed this myself so not sure how good it works

Please mention Revit version, especially when uploading Revit files.
