Export IfcExportAs and change of ifc-clasification does not work - why?

Hi,

What element type are you trying to export and with what IfcExportAs value?

The list of possible IfcExportAs is limited and not all elements can be exported to every value given.

For instance IfcSite doesn't work on any object, IfcWall however does on Generic Models, etc..

export slabedge "Deckenkanten"  and also Generic Models they should apear as IfcOpenings

Hi,

For openings use "IfcOpeningElement" as value.

SlabEdge, just like WallSweep, Gutter etc can't be exported to different entities.

non of these solutions works! i test diferent IFCs (2x2,2x3,4,...)  Even changing Revit Version!

I can`t understand this. is the problem out of the box?

i need it for Revit 2018.3.3.

What do you use for Openings <Generic Models>?

What do you use for SlabEdgesProfil ?

Hi,

Assumed you were using Revit 2020 (it has the IFC alternate UI builtin).

For Revit 2018 make sure you are using the alternate UI, it be found here IFC for Revit

But you tried it already in Revit 2020, correct? (Ifc Scheme 2x3)

Can you post a Revit project (sample) file that doesn't export the entities correctly?

For openings Generic model family would be ok, if the IfcExportAs is set to "IfcOpeningElement" it would always be exported as a openings element.

As I mentioned in the provious post, floorslabs can't be exported to another type, it will always be exported as a Object.

If you can't upload the generated IFC, take a look at it's properties in Solibri/BimCollab Zoom.

Some comments about Revit's compatibility with IFC. 

Good for a laugh after spending a fruitless afternoon trying to make Revit output a useful IFC file. To get to the link you'll need to replace the asterisks in the link becuase it's a naughty word Autodesk censors. HINT:  shi_ and the last letter is a 'T'.

Hi,

See this link: Supported IFC Classes these can all be applied to generic models category.

IfcCovering also work for Floors, the list above doesn't all apply to system families (Floor, Wall, Ceiling, Roof)!

In my previous post I meant Floor:SlabEdge not Floorslabs! these can't be exported to anything other then "IfcBuildingElementProxy"
