Export Blurry Lines

Is there a setting to control the quality of DWF exports?  Each time I attempt to export my drawings, the linework appears "fuzzy" or "blurry" when compared to the annotations.  It didn't do this previously and I can't seem to find a solution for it.

Thank you in advance!

Could it be this?

Thank you for your reply!

I've attempted both Raster and Vector and still get the same issue.  See attached dwf for reference.

Thanks again!

Is that a result from a Raster export because the linework are all converted to raster?

The attached file utilizes the vector option and the end result remains the same.  See attached...

Thanks again!

After some additional research, someone suggested utilizing the CutePDF driver...  It appears to have corrected the problem, but I'm still not certain why the DWF export is not functioning properly.  See attached.

Thoughts?  Thanks!

I don't know why to be honest. If you can do with PDF then do it. It is more common anyways. Not everybody can open DWF(x) files.

I want to re-open this post because we are still having problems with blurry DWFx sheets.... the solution was printing it in PDF format, but now the problem is back in BIM360Docs because that one is using the same DWFx publish options.....

At the moment we are in a Proof of Concept phase of testing BIM360Docs, and actually almost all the negative comments are related to the pixelized/blurry sheets, the biggest are:

  • Split screen is not useable because you cannot select an object in the drawing (dwfx is vectorized);
  • The measuring tool doesn’t snap on the line in 2D drawings, only grids and other annotation objects;

I tried al the solutions given on the forum site’s: Vector printing, shadow settings in Revit and BIM360, high/low print quality, etc. but nothing worked.

The DWFx sheets from the same Revit file in Design Review are also blurry, so that was the reason I moved to the Revit forum instead of the BIM360docs forum.

What I also discovered was that a Revit Project created in Revit 2016 (and even updated later in 2017 or 2018) doesn’t give the problem!

The problem is also posted on the ‘Idea station’ but I think it is a bug in the software, and I think it had to do with Revit itself.
