I receive Error messages when editing or inserting doors, windows in existing walls.  Similar with adding components. See screenshots.

As the screenshot mentions. Some of the parameters are set in such a way that the family can not be build.

This can happen for several reasons. You would need to check the family (and test it out).

With windows and doors it is often the case that the walls in the project are too thick or too thin. When placing the door/window it tries to adapt to the wall thickness but because the wall is too thick/thin causes issues within the family.

Thanks for tip; however, the doors and windows were inserted previously
with no issue. Only now am I receiving these error messages. Other projects
are having similar issues. I just opened an old project; it updated to 2023
and now the error message has 112 issues all related to families (primarily
components) that were in the previous project with no issue. Earlier this
week, I uninstalled the 2023 Revit, and installed a new 2023 Revit. Same
results. Thanks for any additional help!

Be happy to test on my end if that will help you troubleshoot.  Could provide valuable insight.

Post both file versions here if you want.

Some changes in the code might break things when updating.

-Have you updated by single Revit version (i.e 2021 -> 2022 -> 2023 instead of 2021 -> 2023)?

-What happens when you start a new (2023) project and load in the families?

-What happens when you remove the doors/windows from the updated Revit 2023 project and load then in again from a folder?

-What happens when you first update the family to 2023 before loading them in the project?

Follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Close all Revit Sessions on the affected machine.
Rename the following file (instead of removing the folders listed in the solution below): C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%\DDGraph
Restart Revit.
Alternatively:
Copy and paste a healthy DDGraph file from another machine, where the issue is not reproducible.

If the above steps do not help, clear the content of the following folders:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Revit\Autodesk Revit %VERSION%

%USERNAME% should be your windows login name.

%VERSION% should be your Revit version.

Thanks! I am attaching examples of the Error Messages. I tried to load an
older project (2021) to see if it was my current project issue; however,
when it is upgrading to 2023, I received the messages attached, showing 475
issues. Perhaps this is a 2023 version problem? In this case, I uninstalled
Revit 2021, 2022 and the 2023 version files. Then downloaded a new Revit
2023. Unfortunately, the same error messages. Is this a possible "family"
issue, and if so, what can I do to resolve this?
Thanks for your help.

I will give this a try and let you know if it resolves issue. See the
latest screenshots attached when trying to upgrade an older 2021 project.
It won't even load.

Thanks for advice.

Question:

1. I have downloaded Revit 2023 individually. I uninstalled all previous versions.

2. When I open New project, Door Family, for example, has only one available, Single Flush. However, when I try to install door in wall, error message appears:

3. I cannot edit doors, windows or components; i.e. remove or replace or edit.

What is next step?  Thanks.

For future reference: I had the same issue today. The problem in my family was that I had very small geometry somewhere (a line of an extrusion only 1mm long).

apparently the Family Editor could deal with this just fine, but a revit-model can't...
