Editting imported objects

Hi

I modeled an object using Fusion 360 and imported that file into Revit .. I cannot edit the elevations (like having curve strip glass ...) all what I can do is to apply walls on the imported mass.

Another issue is, I have an organic form, the interior walls do not match the outer envelope (organic)

Thank you for your support, my appreciation

You cannot edit the elevation of what? The Revit Walls applied by Face or the Mass created from the Fusion 360 file or the actual file that was Exported from Fusion 360 and imported into Revit?

Regarding question 2: are the walls facing the right direction?  Even so, walls on an Organic Form can be imperfect.

I ment the applied walls .. in regular situation I can edit the profile of the wall but here I could not!

When I imported the object, the faces were already divided, can I adjust the number of divisions (faces) that I apply the walls to them? Because I do not want the whole face to be glass for example or to use a pattern ...

Regarding the interior walls, the issue is the walls and the ceiling are curved ..so the walls exceeded them .. not taking the shape ..

Are you applying Pattern-Based Panels Divided Surfaces? If so, this may explain the overlap. Is it  2" Imperial? If so, it's a known issue since 2014.

You know, pictures would help us visualize what you are doing so we could better advise you. You can even post your file here if you like.

If this is the object in Fusion before importing it into Revit. What can I do to end up with opening, the way we talked above is to apply wall but it will select the entire face, I don't want the glazing to cover all the face (perhaps a portion from multiple faces).

I tried to change the division of the faces; so when I import the object into Revit I just apply whether concrete or glass on the faces that are already drawn.

You have to divide the form to different faces in Fusion prior to import in Revit so that you can create different walls-by-faces to those faces.

could you please tell me how to do so. I have different minor faces in the sculpt workspace, once I select finish form .. it gives me these larger faces which I want to change.

I do not use Fusion 360 so I cannot answer the question.  You can ask over their forum.

I thought you already exported from Fushion 360 and imported into a Revit Project Massing environment??? That's the procedure. Then Revit will create a Mass Form from it onto which you can place Walls or Roof by Mass Face.  With regards to placing opening, why don't you build them into the Revit Walls and Roofs.  Why is it necessary to build them into the Mass Form?

Another thought is manipulate the form with voids in Revit mass environment to get the desired shapes of the surfaces to create roofs/walls by faces.

For example, import 1st instance of the fusion form in a mass, use av oid to cut a half of it, import a second instance and use a different void to cut the other half.  Load it in project and you can create a solid wall for one half and a glass wall for the other half.

Because in the curved walls I cannot edit the profile of the walls unlike if they were straight, since I am applying walls to faces I asked if I can somehow rearrange the faces.

Seems as a nice Idea .. I will see

You can cut the form and/or the wall by face, so I'm not sure what you are having issues with.   Also, I don't know what you mean by "rearrange" the face.  Rearrange it how and for what purpose?

Wow, I just noticed that you unmarked the accepted solution.  What happened?  Did you butt-accept the solution, kind of like butt-dialing a phone number?  he, he.

You know, if you want to post the Fusion 360 exported file, we can take look at it and maybe return some other ideas that may help you.

Thanks for help, Someone helped me by the command (Create part) where I can divide the applied wall as I want with the ability to change materials ..

Again thank you everyone 🙂
