Easier way to select line style?

Hi all. I did a forum search but didn't find anything. I have been annoyed for years by Revit's dialog for selecting detail line styles. Despite my best efforts, our projects inevitably wind up with over a hundred of them. (Purging unused or redundant line styles is another topic that I do see a lot of traffic on.) Anyway, actually selecting the line style is a PITA because the scroll bar is so narrow and the pulldown is so small. And there is no search box to type in, and no list of recently used styles, both of which exist in other dialogs and would be super handy here. Anyone figure out a better way? TIA.

Interesting. I can kind of see what you are after.  Revit would  intuitively know somehow what you're after and then filter the list of line types accordingly.  Heck, they do it all the time. I type the letters "PO" into my search bar and it's immediately auto-filled with "PORN". How the heck do they know that's exactly what I was going to type???  Scary.

Autodesk please just make the line styles searchable, should be so simple but entire standards are built around reducing the amount of line styles just because of this one UI limitation...

If you're open to 3rd party tools I find Ideate Explorer invaluable for this a many other tasks.

I would be more open to this if it didn't cost so much for such a simple need. The full suite almost costs as much as Revit itself.

As @barthbradley has (very subtly) tried to tell you, you can start typing the line name in the dropdown, and it will take you directly to the line you're looking for.

But if you want, you can post an idea in the ideas forum so they can add the search box.

I am aware of this, but if the line names are longer then you have to type at the speed of sound to get it to register. For example Solid 2, Solid 3 or Pen 3 - Hidden, etc. Most standards have some sort of repetitive word at the beginning to organize it, and it seems silly to base an entire standard around making the names shorter. If there is not something on the ideas forum then I will add one.

In the meantime, to save you headaches until it becomes a feature, maybe consolidating line styles would help.
