Dual Monitor support for Revit

Integrate dual monitor compactibility within revit. Dragging the bottom of the programm border across both monitors isn't ideal.

This page was setup for you to submit ideas on how the product can be improved as well as allow you to see other ideas submitted and vote on the ones you would like to see implemented.

However, this forum can be a good place to discuss problematic behavior prior to posting ideas for improvement.

Currently you can drag the program window across multiple monitors (as you can with other Windows applications), as you mentioned.

However, you can also drag out dialogs (e.g. Properties, Project Browser) to a second monitor.

How would you envision dual monitor compatibility within Revit?

Personally i would like it if you could copy and paste things between two seporate revit instances.

Or if you could drag the view windows outside of revit onto the other monitors

The way I see it, i would like to set the 3D view (maybe two 3D views on the first monitor), and floorplans on my second monitor. This for an overall look of my project to view the effects of changes I made to the project floor plans. But this can work with anyway you want to overview your project. Like elevations on monitor 1 and sections on monitor 2 or whatever you are using. 

Swapping the properties box to the second monitor while working on the first monitor is not working well, because you have to swap your mouse to the second screen constantly to adjust something. It's more the way to have a quick look like i mentioned above.

Have you already tried dragging the bottom of the program border across both monitors (as bramBIM mentioned)?

Assume your multiple monitors are setup using the most common Windows display configuration:

Do not maximize Revit window so that you can stretch it across multiple screens.  From there you can type WT in Revit to tile the views, then manually stretch as you see fit.  Below is what I have on a 3-monitor setup.

Personally, I only maximize Revit drawing window in one monitor, and keep the Project Browser and the Properties windows in another monitor.  Reason is I run a hoard of other programs at the same time so I need to see them as well.  You may not need to.
