Interesting discussion. Certainly, the only official and approved worksharing & collaboration tool for Revit is BIM360, but not all are so wealthy to afford it, even as Revit itself. Its still an unanswered topic how Autodesk may would include small business and independent professionals in its market without force them to pay the same amount for licences as large enterprises. Don't tell me that Revit LT is the solution, specially when you have a small team struggling inside a shark's fishbowl advantaged by budgets and client's wallet to pay for software license, support and certifications. That's pretty unfair, taking in count that small-scale enterprise are the user majority of Revit; surely they don't represent the major market share of Autodesk, but surely too it's an important niche and use of software provide the main income of thousands of AEC workers and their families around the world. So it's so easy to claim for legal use of the software if you are one of the big ones, small fishes to be fried...
Believe it or not, mentioned WS option works, with all of obvious inherent risks and tipycal issues of cloud storage and misuse, as any OOTB solution. A little hint: keep the same route of shared folder in all devices.
