Drawing Representation

Hello guys,

I'm new at revit and i'm still trying to understand how VG works. Does anyone know how to represent the lines of a terrain above the cut plane like the picture bellow in the right side, with white dashed lines and black background?

Revit doesnt do that. I think u have to do it by yourself. using filled region tool and detail lines 🙂

Your black surface will come from the material you use for the topo

The white dashed lines are all done with Graphic Overrides, as per screenshot

This may help with the basics of Visibility / Graphic Overrides

Thanks guys for the quick answers.

I was afraid i would have to do everything manually...it seems like it...

 I have set the cut pattern of the terrain to be black in the model settings and the contours to dashed white lines in the VG but the lines won't appear that way. The rectangle you point out in the picture seems to change only the lines under and not  above the cut plane or i'm doing something wrong?

1) In VG, create a new subcategory with hidden as the linestyle

OR

2) In View Template, can you create a filter by height?

That's because the cut plane is cutting through the topo. Essentially it's slicing off the portion that is above the cut plane. And the contour lines are on the surface. So you aren't going to see contour lines for that portion of the topo that is higher than the cut plane.
