Drafting Pattern

Hi,

I have  Some Doubts,

   1.    I have a Model pattern in revit.

I just need the same hatch in drafting pattern.

(Auto cad hatch also available, if its required)

   2.   I Need to change the scale of existing drafting pattern in revit.

Cheers.

There are several plugins and online solutions for adjusting patterns, also mentioned here.

... You can just create a new drafting pattern using the .pat file and set the import scale.
(manage --> additional settings--> fill patterns--> new pattern custom type)
... See also custom patterns
... And about editing patterns

... The default .pat file location below, you should make a copy before editing.

C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Revit [version here]\Data\revit metric.pat

FYI. For material cut patterns you can only use a drafting pattern.

regarding point no. 1:

You can load your pat file following steps in below photo.

regarding point no. 2:

you can't change the scale of existing hatch. only while loading it.

However, the hatch scale depends on the scale of the view.

Both adjustments can be handled completely within your Revit project (without having to wrestle with external  .PAT files)  by installing the free HatchKit Add-in for Revit available from the Revit Store.

No 'wrestling' if you already have the .pat file there really... also, the first link I send already refers to this plugin, and others. But true enough, I wouldnt edit the .pat files manually but it is still an option...

FWIW: Model Patterns remain a fixed size relative to the model, and Drafting Patterns remain a fixed size relative to the scale of the view.

You may be able to change the Model Pattern you have to a Drafting Pattern by simply opening the .pat file  in Window's Notepad and changing the ";%TYPE=MODEL" to ";%TYPE=DRAFTING" and then saving under a different name.  When you bring it into Revit as a "Custom" Pattern, you will be able to use the "Import Scale" size it properly.  My suggestion would be to create the new "custom" Pattern at an "Import Scale" of 1.0 and test it in a View with a View Scale of 1:1. If it displays correctly at 1:1, you can then edit the Fill Pattern/Import Scale -- or create a new Fill Pattern/Import Scale -- at the appropriate scale for the View Scale it is to shown in.

FWIW If you did have the Autocad pattern for it as you mentioned, there shouldn't be any need to edit the .pat file for creating a drafting pattern. Unless it is specified as type=%model in the .pat file, you'll get an error message something along the lines of no drafting patterns found.

Edit: here's a decent video how to do it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C9mviyirpZE
