Without seeing how you set up your parameter here is how I would do it.

I woud use a yes/no visibility

Create the DRAFT text (as Text)

Now open the Family Types dialog and add a Yes/No parameter and name it Draft,

Make it either a type or instance depending how you want to use it and group it under Visibility.

yes no.JPG

Select the DRAFT text , and in properties under visible click on the Associate Family Parameters button and select the corresponding Draft parameter.

In the project when you create a new drawing sheet using the title block you can change the DRAFT status visibility by selecting the title block and ticking / unticking the Draft value (either as a type or instance depending how you set it up)

Yeah this is what I did but when I clicked the visablity button it wasn't doing anything. Does it matter if it is a shared parameter?

It looks like you created a family type parameter, not a visibility parameter.  They both work, just differently.

Share the family.

It doesn't need to be a shared parameter but I can't see that effecting it.

Did you remember to select the text and associate the parameter.

can you post a screen shot of your parameter set up?

ass param.JPG< this is the associate button

Use the associate button to connect your parameter to the Visible property

Did you create it as an instance parameter?

Ok I see what happened here.

You added the visibility to the Draft text family but not to the title block

If you remove the visibility parameter from the Draft text family and add the visibility parameter to the title block,

and associate that to the Draft text it will work.

I have a similar set up with Keyplans on my Title Blocks. I have created filled regions over the keyplan and assigned them to yes/no parameters that are shared. So for a small building I have 3 areas. Area A, Area B and Area C. But this building has 44 floors and I have a total of 844 sheets that I need to check a box for the correct area. Is there a simple way to manage which sheet has "Area A" checked? I tried creating a project parameter but it doesn't appear that I can link the project parameter to the Sheet's Yes/No parameter. I would be able to check the boxes in a sheet list if this worked...

Create different titleblock types and pre-check A or B or C or each type.
