DOCS- Missing subfolders

Hi,
On one of our BIM projects (Revit 2021) hosted on ACC, two MEP subfolders suddenly disappeared from the folder tree between yesterday and today, even though user permissions should normally prevent the deletion of folders or models. The folders cannot be found by anyone on the team, including the administrator, who has not made any recent permission changes.

Have you ever encountered this type of situation (subfolders that disappear or become invisible) in Docs? Which checks or verifications would you recommend as a priority (activity log, recycle bin, restore options, contacting technical support, etc.) to diagnose the issue and recover the data?

Hello @mustapha.djaziriYAVSH ,

In Autodesk Construction Cloud (Docs), it is not impossible for folders to “disappear.” In most cases they were moved, renamed, or deleted. Also, ACC Docs does not support a permission mode like “can edit but cannot delete”: users with Edit rights can delete folders/files.

Priority checks to diagnose and recover:

  1. Search in Docs first (the folders may have been moved/renamed).

  2. Review the Activity Log / Project Activity for the time window (look for Move / Rename / Delete and identify who did it).

  3. Check Deleted items (Recycle Bin) in Docs and Restore the folders. Deleted items can sometimes require sorting/scrolling to appear.

  4. If the action happened via Desktop Connector, restoring a deleted folder may not restore all contents automatically; Autodesk recommends using “Undo Delete” where applicable.

  5. If nothing appears in Activity or Deleted items, open a case with Autodesk Support and provide project details, exact folder paths, and timestamps.
