Display Family based on View Scale

I know I was able to do this once but forgot how I did it. I have a Revit family that displays in our 1/8" floor plans but do not display in our 1/4" enlarged plans and interior elevations and they are not hidden. I select to show hidden elements and they display but as grey lines, not red. Any help would be appreciated.

One way to make a family display differently in two views is by adding subcategories to the family. Then, controlling those subcategories with visibility graphics of each view.

There are no subcategories in the family.

You sure you aren't thinking Detail Level? I mean, you can control the visibility of elements in a Family based on View Detail Level - not View Scale.
