Disable "Zoom To Fit" from double clicking Scroll Wheel on mouse

This is going to sound like a pretty stupid question, but at those times when Revit is getting "tired" and isn't running very fast, I'll click & hold the scroll wheel down on the mouse to drag the view and since Revit is running slower and doesn't move the view right away, my impatience kicks in and I try it again, well then Revit thinks I double clicked the scroll wheel and zooms the view all the way out. This gets extremely annoying. I like everything else the scroll wheel does in Revit and every other program on my computer, so I don't want to de anything that deactivates it's functions on anything else. I only want to disable the double click zoom option in Revit. I've checked in the "double click options" and hot keys and it doesn't show anything about the scroll wheel on the mouse.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

Revit lives in the land of perfect and doesn't understand what construction is.

As far as I know, this cannot be done right now. You could submit an idea for it on the idea forum

Please do something about this, it's infuriating. Makes the software nearly unusable.

That's so not true. Thousands of people using it on a daily basis without this problem.

You might want to consider using a different mouse or disabling the function in your mouse settings. Control your environment, don't let it control you.

Drafting is a breeze and Revit doesn't always work the way you think it should.

Set your mouse properties for the scroll wheel to be middle button perhaps?  That is what mine is set to and zoom to fit doesn't happen when I double click.

Thanks for the suggestions, looks like my mouse is faulty anyway.  Double clicking on a single click.

The software is clunky and is lacking options for users to turn on/off features. "Control your environment, don't let it control you." that is exactly what he is trying to do...

My Logitech mouse works great, but a double click of the tiny Middle Mouse side button just happens to be very sensitive. I do not need Zoom-To-Fit very often in Revit and I would prefer to disable it rather than have to locate and re-zoom into an area every few times I accidentally activate Zoom-To-Fit on a large model while attempting to pan.

Revit has some of its UX stuck in the early 2000s. When a lousy aspect of the UX is noticed it should be documented by users for Autodesk to correct at some point in the future.

That sounds more like an equipment issue but if you think you need a new feature, you can try submitting it in the Ideas forum.

Sadly, they do not listen to any ideas. There are simple ideas that have been asked for thousands of times and threads that are over 10 years old with no implementation

That's not true at all. Have a look at new features lists and a good number of them come from the Ideas submitted by users.

There may be very good reasons for that. Not all ideas are good and some are not possible to implement without breaking something else.

Either way, they aren't looking here for suggestions. New feature requests belong in the Ideas forum. That's what it is for,

A professional grade product bearing the Autodesk name should offer a workaround for a simple accessibility problem that would be remedied with an Options menu listing all the assignable mouse commands just like there is already a thorough listing of customizable keyboard commands. It baffles me that these forums are full of contrarian negativity, but thank you for at least mentioning the Ideas forum alongside yours. I will post there as well.

You are entitled to your opinion but it does no good here. This is a user support forum. Users helping users. Occasionally Autodesk moderators chime in but it's usually superficial and they cannot help with anything that doesn't already exist in the program.

Good luck and maybe try a different mouse if the one that you are using is too sensitive.

There is no control in Revit for this and apart from using the Navigation Wheel & Tools the only way around this is to download some software for your mouse and you can Program in Specific Features for individual Applications

I am just complaining here. I put it in Ideas, but considering this is a basic feature in most other software I have little hope for its implementation. Only programs created by autocrats have set-in-stone control schemes. Everything else has customizable mouse commands on day one.

Another mouse button I would assign would be Tab onto MouseButton4. Currently the Revit Tab command has some weird programming that conflicts with Windows OS, so when I assign Tab to MB4 via Logitech mouse software the MB4 click performs an Alt-Tab program switch.

You're preaching to the choir, here. This forum is about solutions, not personal feelings. Please, complain to Autodesk where it might do some good. It does nothing here.
