Hello all, i have created a model in Revit which i have plonked on top of an imported point cloud with a view to getting some nice visualisations. The problem i'm having is my model looks way too cartoony compared to the point cloud, even in realistic view. All i have done to the building materials is change the colours slightly.
I've tinkered with the Graphic Display Options but nothing has helped. I'm guessing you cant render a point cloud so is there anything else i can do?
Thanks!
Looks correct to me.
...are you wanting your model to look more realistic? That's going to come from the Model elements' Rendering Appearance Material
Yes i would like the building to look more realistic, as it would if i rendered it. I dont know what to do to the rendering appearance materials to achieve this though
I'm not following you. You want you model to look like a point cloud? That's not what we do in Revit. Maybe you could Photoshop it it get that effect. But, if you want your model to look more photorealistic in Revit, it about LOD and Materials and Lighting.and Shading.
If you want more realistic than what the Realistic visual style can offer than you have to go with Ray Trace or Rendering.
No no i dont want it to look like the point cloud exactly, but as you can see in the image i attached the model stands out as unrealistic compared to the point cloud, i'd just like to find a way to tone down the cartoonish look somewhat. But you cant render a point cloud and it doesnt show up in ray trace, if im not mistaken?
