dimensioning on child of dependant view

When I dimension on the child view from a dependant view, it shows up on the parent view as well as the other child view as well.  Is there a way to only have "annotations" show up on the view where they are created?? I don't mind them showing up on the parent as this view is not on a sheet.  It seems to be common sense and I was surprised that dimensions were showing up on other views.  Specifically when you have a matchline, you generally would have a string of dimensions on the grids just outside the match line.  These dimensions then show up on the veiw that represents the other side of the match line.  Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Regards Peter.

It is just annotation that I placed in the one view.  I drew a line, filled region for the arrow and some text.  That's what I meant by faking it.  The only issue with doing this is that you will have to go to your other views and hide these elements so they only appear where required.

Cheers Peter.

My general rule is overlapping one bay so that I can have a dimension of
the grid line in one view.

Your views does not need to crop before the Matchline.  I would extend one view to include the last grid line (8) from the adjoining view.

I have find some solution for this so I want to share it. Attached file is hide box family load this and copy on top of break line after use annotation from grid then change the value of this text.

I also desire the same solution to this problem. My work is two buildings that cross each other. Therefore, its grids are also crossed. The problem I am having:
1. I create the dimensions of the grid at the beginning of the grid. The purpose is for child viewports. But this is not possible, the viewport on the subpages only shows HEADLINE in the intersection area So I created the above dimensions but the child viewport and pulled their pins away from the other child viewports. This can be lightly solved in the first topic.
2. Can't rotate the tags and the reading direction is extremely messy.
3. When hiding unwanted objects. Then when you publish all the sheet it still exists. And every time you open the file, all hidden objects appear. What should I do when printing a series of drawings upon request !?
Ps: When doing large and complex constructions that require a lot of sizes and captions. To present it professionally and in detail by revit is just too difficult. What I can do is easier in Autocad. And you ask why I don't use AutoCAD, I give up...

Good luck. AutoCAD is fine program. Not sure why you posted if you're giving up.

Hi,

There are many more interesting things in my post. But the interesting thing is that you choose an exclamation, great mentor! I know there are limitations in any software. And it's not too much to give opinions, right !?

Not really. I saw a bunch of complaints about things that supposedly can't be done.

I'm not the one giving up. I can't be a mentor to anyone that is giving up. Your statements indicate that there are no solutions to your issues and you had already given up.

Were there any opinions given other than your criticisms of my reaction to you giving up?

Forgive me if I touch someone's shrine. in my language it means "I can't do it! have any ideas" ... excuse me for my poor English. don't let my "give up" word stick around in your mind ((:

Anyway, if there are thousands of complaints out there, most of them would be crap requests like mine.

If you are asking me to forgive you for a language barrier, shouldn't you do the same instead of going straight to personal criticisms?
