Dimension snap between autocad import and revit objects

I have imported a site survey in DWG format, and I want to dimension between my building (revit) and the site boundary lines (dwg) but revit won't let me snap between them. If I pick the boundary line first I can snap to it and then other dwg objects, but not from the DWG to revit objects.

How can I dimension bewteen my house and the boundary line?

there is a trick there draw a small thin line and do the dimension and see if helps. thanks

I would check for possible alignment issues - the dwg could be rotated by small amount.

Associated topic: if you have your DWG linked be careful - in my use case a created dimensions between linked dwg lines and revit geometry ad it worked fine. But when I changed the dwg (even though I didn't change the lines that had dimensions snapped to), revit dimensions were deleted. I recommend to check your usecase.

Ahh yes, it was an alignment issue. I tested with just a rectangle in cad and it worked perfectly.

Even though my site survey looks straight it must be slightly off. I can still snap to the corners of the building though if I zoom in really close.

Use TAB to pick end points of lines when placing dimensions.
