Wall panels automatically join between curtain walls

Hi all. I have 2 curtainwalls with the same basic wall inside as the panels, the curtain wall ends are set to "disallow join" but the wall panels inside all join up automacially. I have tried the "unjoin" tool but unable to select any wall panels.

Anyone knows how to make the wall panels not joining so there will be a line between the two curtain walls?

Any chance to assign a very narrow mullion type to the curtain wall type?

Or duplicate the wall type, assign a different material (duplicated with everything exact the same, just different material name), and assign it to the border panels of one curtain wall.

I have to shorten one of the walls by 1mm to get this done. seems to be a flimsy solution to this basic issue.

Or model them as one curtain wall and edit profile.

That is because the Join condition of the curtain wall is irrelevant to that of the Basic Wall used in the Panel

How about you use the Wall Joins tool, and either of the following: (See GIF below)

  • either use Disallow Join (for aligned elements)
  • or Do not Clean Join (for lateral elements)

Thanks for the demonstration. it works but unlike how you demonstrated, I have to change the join to disallow joint on every joining panels, one at a time. not sure why in your case it's applied to the whole curtain wall
