dimension problem in REVIT LT

Hi
In some families , when I set them  dimensions,  it gives me the Hight of the element and I find myself toggling
between two dimension type, one with show opening Hight for windows and door and the other for 3D families.
(e.g table or closet)
it was not like this when I work with the old revit versions.  what do I do wrong?
thanks
Yaira

I am not sure I understood the question right but it seems that you are confusing between user defined parameter and the OOTB Built In Parameters. The built in parameters existed as far back as I can remember and they differ depending on which template has been used to create the family.

Some categories' templates have them, some don't...for instance Casework has a type Width/Depth/Height where as Doors have Width/Height/Rough Width/Rough Height...etc

In most cases the built in parameters are usable; however, if you are not comfortable with them or for instance they are type parameters and you need instance parameter, simply ignore the exiting Built in ones and add new..
