Showing elements in the floor plan which are above the cut line?

I have a plan in the attic, I would like to show the roof structure within the attic as dashed lines..

here I mean elements within the same floor.. just above 

possible?

  • 1st option...You can either set an underlay then use linework 
  • a second option is to create a reflected ceiling view in which you have the structure isolated and overridden projection lines then overlay both views on sheet
  • a third option is to add an invisible model line in the family with a length parameter...when increased, the beams get cut and shown in plan
