Different materials for assembled stair threads

Hello,

I need to have two materials in my stair´s threads: a metalic support and a wooden floor. The stair´s steps have a rounded bottom and the wooden floor should be as the red rectangle shown in the image.

I tried using risers, but I get the error message "its not possible to create stairs"

What about modeling that tread topper (shown in red in your screenshot) as a Baluster Family and checking Use (1) Baluster per Tread on Stairs in the Rail Type's Edit Baluster Placement dialog box?

Would it work for landings? including custom drawn ones?

You didn't ask about landings. You asked about treads and I gave you a brilliant solution with screenshot.

Indeed a brilliant solution, but too good to be true. 😔

Just to be clear, it is not possible to have risers in an assembled stair? or why do I get the error?

I´m thinking of having an independent type of stair for the threat topper on the same position as the other one

I don't know what you are talking about. Those blue things in this screenshot are risers in an Assembled Stair:

It can also work for landings if you place the balusters manually per thread, followed by a 'landing'-baluster.. etc. etc.
