Detail level by element

Change level of detailing by object. We can have a corse detail level on view but one or more elementes with more detail.

And in Families, you can set the detail level for every element you create:

But this would Change the detail for every door in view, If I wanted one door to be course and one door to be Fine, this wouldn't accomplish that.

What specifically is your problem? Do you have an item showing too much detail despite being set to a course level? Or do you actually want one item to show more detail than another?

I want one item to show in fine detail. the other elemtns need to be in medium/coarse detail. but all the elements are the same category (Lighting Fixtures)

This may seem like a silly question, but do you want it to show in fine detail as in just MORE detail, or you want it to show fine detail as defined by Revit? Can you share a screen shot?

The only way I can think to show this how you want visually is to have your view set to course with everything in it you want shown in course.

Then hide the element/s you want showing in fine.

Then duplicate your view and hide everything except the element/s you want shown in fine and set that view to fine.

Finally place both views on your sheet and align them.

Its a little bit tedious but doable.
