Detail Components

I have several sections in my project and most of the detail components have disappeared from the sections, particularly rebar sections and elevations, nominal cut lumber, and joists. Does anyone know why this is happening and is there a way to retrieve them?

Detail Items are View Specific Elements - like Annotations. 

....you can copy paste aligned to same place the detail items between views.

Are you saying that detail components were in the view but disappeared?  Or are you saying they are in some views and not in some other views?

I have 15 sections in my project that were all completed. The detail components that I used in the detailed sections have all disappeared. Specifically the nominal cut lumber, wood joist, and rebar sections and elevations.

Have you checked view templates for the visibility of Detail Items?

Did the sections get slightly off angle by chance? Detail items only show when the view is perfectly perpendicular to the components.

There is nothing off axis. It seems so arbitrary. On one of the sections half of a filled region is remaining and half of it is missing, along with the missing detail components. Not all of the detail components, just most of them.

Half of a filled region? Like its boundaries are unchanged, but some of its just not showing?

Did one of your coworkers maybe go in and delete the components? Can check the sync history to see who was in the model.

If the model is hosted on the Autodesk Construction Cloud (ACC) you can always go to an older sync and download that specific version to copy paste the components back into the projct.

I am the only one to work in this file and it is not hosted by the Autodesk Cloud.

DId you check to see if they got turned off in Visibility Graphics? Try turning on the Light Bulb to see if they got hidden somehow. Did you move the section marker on plan?

They are not turned off or hidden. They have just disappeared. I have never had this happen before and I've been using Revit for a really long time. I'm not sure why some of the detail components would still be there and others not. So, even if something was moved or off-axis, which I'm sure didn't happen for all sections, wouldn't all of them have disappeared?

No, remember that Detail Components are a PER view instance, so if the section marker got moved enough the detail components might disappear. This only happened once I think on a project.

How about any backups of the file? 

While this might not hel now, but I would recommend running an Audit the next time you open the file. Should run an audit on files at least once a week (if not more often)

What are we looking for in the "After" and "Before" PDFs you posted above?  They are two completely different views so there is nothing to compare.
