I'm working with (2) Revit 2017 files from an Architect. I've downloaded them from a filesharing site. I always check "detach from central" because I do not have sufficient permissions to open otherwise. I need these files to dump into Fuzor, the program we're using for VR. The (2) files, 1 is of the entire building, but 1 is of the detail of an ice rink. If I mesh the two files together in Fuzor as they are, the ice rink is sort of floating outside the building instead of laying on top of the existing ice rink and providing greater detail. Someone mentioned to me that it might be because the points of origin do not match.
Does that sound like the likely culprit and how do I fix this?
That is a likely explanation. But I don't know if Fuzor uses the basepoints or shared coordinates of your Revit file. I would just measure in Fuzor the difference; if possible. And move your project.
You can combine two revit files in another " overall REVIT " file..
aline using plan and section...
after that use that overall Revit to export in whatever software you need.
Cheers.
