Are you asking the same question you asked yesterday, or are you wondering how to create an Energy Model -- which is what is exported to gbXML and then into DB?

I agree with @barthbradley on this one you are repeating the exact same questions as yesterday 😕 you really need to talk to a Sustainability Engineer.

DesignBuilder is not a Plug in or Software it is a software which you need to buy and it comes with a plug in for Revit. The plug in itself will do you NO GOOD if you haven't purchased the Software which does more or less the same as Insight (combined) IF you purchase all of its modules...

The Plugin: is more of an exporter which takes your model from Revit to the software

The Software: BD doesn't come for free and also doesn't come all in one package. They have a variation of 3 packages where each has an Essential/Plus/Pro. your options are limited to which package you purchase. If you purchase the Pro for example, then you do not need to do or modify anything in Revit because you will be able to model, render, calculate, simulate, optimize all in DB...If you buy the Essential your options will be limited.

From the economic point of view...insight is more cost efficient because you can basically use all modules with the credits you have available in your wallet

There is absolutely no problem using any Energy Analysis Software/Simulator with Revit. The software is not the key to the solution you are looking for!! All the mentioned software from your previous post and this post can do you the necessary calculations/simulations required for the certification.

What you need is a Sustainability Engineer/Expert who can advise you on how to design and model a sustainable green building.

i already studing now in sustianbility and making master's about it

so i have a good information about it and how to design using it

but i need software exactly for that you say i need to have a number and calculate for this analysis because of the old and manual way will not be like using technology now

so i need to use this power only to have this analysis to edit and change my design and analysis again ....... so i will get a sustainbility building with the perfect study and make sure about energy and tempreture and all that i stude and work on it after build the bulding

Did you look at the PDF I attached above? It has merely 16 pages. Do you need me to point out a specific page range?

Your replies are confusing, once you state "yes you need to talk to a sustainability expert because you have so many questions" then you say "You are mastering in Sustainability and you know everything"

Anyways reverting back to your original question...

  • IF you have decided to use DesignBUILDER then those are questions you should address to DesignBUILDER support team or on their forum if they have one.
  • IF you decide to use Insight, as advised yesterday there is/are forum(s) for insight with experts who can really give you more reliable solutions

Here you will keep getting the same links over and over again...you marked them yesterday , and you have been marking them today as solutions...and most probably you will be marking the same links as solutions tomorrow. It has become like the Groundhog day

I gave him that PDF yesterday HERE lol not sure he looked at it, I think he marked something as solution so I assumed it was not what he was searching for... and today I log in! Groundhog day!

  1. On the Insight forum he posts that he had an IT guy who came over and installed Insight but cant use it (basically because he doesn't have sufficient credits/subscription) HERE
  2. BUT On the Revit forum he accepts a solution stating that he has decided to go with DesignBuilder because he already has it set up on his PC! HERE

Im quite confused now more than he is!

Not true, they did try to help you. The error message you referred to + the screen shot from Insight + the screenshot from your Account Management which you have provided indicate One of Three possibilities, you do not have a valid subscription, you are using a pirated software or you have a multi-seat group license (in which case your account manager is the one to help you not them)...There has been no problem to solve with Insight, there is a problem with you being able to identify what kind of license you have!!!...

Now on the Revit forum you keep asking for help on DesignBuilder which is ok, but the question is,  have you ever used Design Builder or any Energy Analysis / Simulator before???? do you even have a valid license for DesignBuilder?

If the answer is no, then no one can help you except with copying and pasting links found on google search and I have doubts any of the visitors to your thread knew what DesignBuilder is before you posted the question

I cannot help you if you do not answer the 3 questions which you keep evading...

  1. have you ever used DesignBuilder or any EA/ES software before???
  2. and do you have a valid license for DesignBuilder?
  3. And most important of all how the hell are you marking solutions when you've just confirmed again that the problems you are having have not been resolved???
