Demo dashed line overlap with Existing solid line

I'm trying this on a simple existing wall where I demo a portion of it.

If you look at it in elevation, the existing wall is sharing a boundary with the demo wall so the solid line of the existing wall is over the dashed line of the demo wall...therefore making the demo wall look solid.

How can I ensure a demo wall will show dashed in any elevation (Circled in red in attached image)?

You can use the Linework (LW) tool on the Modify Tab for that.

We thought about that but that defeats the purpose of using phases. I was wondering if there's an actual way of changing some settings rather than manually finding where existing walls overlap with every demo'ed wall (which are A LOT) and reducing the risk of missing any....Cause we would have to override the existing walls, not the demolished ones

Well, if wall edges from two different phases are overlapping in the view, there's not much you can do about it if you want both phases represented in the same view.   If you want to show both conditions on the Plans, why don't you do two different views, side-by-side - before and after?

Of course I want both phases represented and that's the issue...that they are overlapping and I should be able to see the dashed lines, not the solid lines (but I still need to see the solid lines for when it doesn't overlap with a demolished wall).

I don't think a before and after would work. The inudstry standard for a demo document is to show your existing and demolished elements together. Showing one view with only existing elements and then another view just showing the demo dashed lines floating in space would be more confusing? Or even a second view with just the new construction defeats the purpose of a demo plan...

I understand it's a limitation and probably not possible but just was wonering what other people were doing with their demolition documents.

I'll overcome this by setting in Phasing >Graphic Override a pattern for the Demolished >Projection/Surface (for example a red oblique hatch) and use a Legend for Phases when using Phase Filter > Show All

Surprisingly, we still dont have solution in 2026 and what @constantin.stroescu susggested seems best solution.
