DELETE PARAMETERS

I want to delete a parramater so I can freely move the sink to the sides by just selecting it. Howvere due to the fact that the location of the dink is setup by a parameter I can NOT do this. I try to dleet the parameter By deleting the dimension mark BUt although this makes the parrameter dispaear it still contains it. I would really like to know how I can delet a parrameter. I have attached teh file and you can sipmly see the  issue in the kitchen plan.

Solution for your question --->>> You can delete or unassign parameters as follows:

Option A (Delete) see image below

  1. Go to the Ribbon
  2. Under Properties Palette >> Click Family Types
  3. Select the Parameter
  4. Remove
  5. Click Apply >> OK to exit

If the Parameter is assigned to a dim. or is in a formula; Revit will prompt you with a Notice Message

Option B (Unassign) See image below

You can simply leave the parameter there ... you do not need to delete it (maybe you will need it later). You can simply unassign it

  1. Select the Dim. Annotation on the view
  2. On the Options Bar >> Label Dropdown Menu
  3. Select "NONE"

In this case that dim. will not be driven by the parameter...Note that the same parameter can be placed on several views, so you have to check if the other views have this dimension also parametrized.

REMARK...Solution for the constraints problem

  • Deleting or Unassigning will not solve the issue you are having with the constraint. It is not this Parameter which is constraining the sink.
  • What you need is to reset the constraints PROPERLY - See Screencast Below

I am not sure if this is what you are aiming to do...If it is not, you could maybe describe more in detail what you want to do; then I may be able to help you better...
