Decal Placement:

Anonymous
Not applicable

Hello,

I am having trouble placing decals in a project.

We have numerous decals loaded and placed throughout; however, when I click the decal button in the ribbon now, nothing happens.

The ribbon flashes like it wants to work, but immediately flashes back and the decal types never opens.  I can manage my decal types with the drop down though, just not place them.

I have tried in elevations and 3D views.

I am not the only one experiencing this problem in this project either.

Any ideas?

A question first:

Did the decal ever worked in your computer?

You may need to update the service pack of Revit. For a quick fix I would create a keyboard shortcut for Place Decal and see if it works.

Go to view, User Interface, Keyboard shortcuts and search for decal. Add a new shortcut and see if that works.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for your reply, Angelica.

All updates were installed prior to posting this question.

I did create a keyboard shortcut, to no avail.

Same behavior, ribbon flashes, and just as quickly flashes back.

Thank you for your post.  It looks like you are having trouble placing decals within the Revit software.  In this case there could be a number of factors contributing to this ill behavior.  In response to Angelica, did this ever work on your system, and if it did, what recently changed?

Additionally, please create a copy of your system information file (link below) to review the environment to identify any potential contributing factors.  Please also let us know what version of Revit you are currently on.  Please keep us posted.  Thank you and we look forward to your reply update.

Thank you for your reply, Michael.

Yes, decals have been successfully been placed throughout the project in the past.

I am unsure of when exactly it decided to stop working, or what changed.

I can open a new project and place decals just fine, so something within this project seems to be the problem.

Not sure what I am looking for in the NFO.

Hi @jhudtwalcker

Thanks for sharing!

I got the model, can you also share the decals as individual files and let me know where are you trying to place these in the model?

Regards,

My colleagues and I have been experiencing this problem as well. Has a solution been found?
