To the Autodesk guy who decides what to add or subtract to the imperial library, please put the pocket door and the cased opening back in. We residential architects use those a lot.
To the Autodesk guy in charge of the material editor, please fix it so that i can use my tablet input device without crashing while using the material editor.
Just a suggestion, but you might want to consider developing your own content (re: pocket doors and cased openings). You'll find them more adaptable to your specific projects than trying to use the out-of-the-box (OOTB) families on your projects. However, you should be able to upgrade the families from previous release OOTB libraries and use them in your current projects.
No arguments with your issues with the material editor. It's unwieldly.
I pretty much do that Kirby especially if its something that is going to be seen in a model view or elevation. KInd of a waste of time though for simple things that are only seen in a plan view though. OOTB is good for those.
What version of Revit are you running?
I would echo Ross in upgrading older family files if you need them. If you don't have an older version of Revit installed you can find the famillies on Autodesk Seek. You can also request that they go back in the OOTB content at the Feedback Site.
I hope this helps!
