Dashed linework displaying as solid

We are having an issue in our project where all elements that have a dashed lines associated with them are showing up as solid. If we hover over the object they highlight and show the dashed line, but still display as a solid line. See attached image.

I have checked the object styles in both the family and project file, and adjusted the scale; but linework still displays as solid.

Where else can I look to see what is causing this?

Are they under a different Phase and you have a Phase Filter assigned to the View?

The families are on New Construction.

Open Phase Filter "Show Previous + New" and check "New" column, see if it is set to By Category or Overridden.  It should be set to By Category.

That did it. We had someone override it to get the new walls to display as solid black, and the existing to show as solid grey.

Is there another way to show new walls as solid black and existing walls as solid grey, without having to have 2 sets of wall types for new and existing? When we set coarse to show as solid black it also changes our existing walls to solid black.

Of course there is.  You can still set the Phase Filter of Show Previous + New the way you are having.  But don't override everything, only the Cut pattern.

Hello,

In our design we want to use assemblies items in Revit. But we had some problems in cut section representation.

as you can see in the image attached. The dashed line are shown as solid. Just one edge has been shown in dashed lines. Have you ever had this kind of problem? can anybody help me in this?

Thank you in advance

Another reason why dashed lines may appear solid is when the line is outside the view range.

When elements are between the view range bottom and view depth (for floor plan), they are presented using <Beyond> Line styles.
