Dashed lines not showing solid line below

Today's issue . . .

Our drawings are very diagrammatic, influenced by our CAD drawings.

  • items above counter height are a heavy dash-dot-dot line
  • items at counter height are a solid line
  • items below counter height are a lighter dashed line

This is controlled by a filter that changes the appearance of the lines if the object is Above or Below.

Currently in PDFs, if an above line is on top of a solid line, we're only seeing the dashed line and my project managers want it to appear solid.

How it appears in PDF

How it appears on screen in Revit, how the project manager wants to see it in PDF.

I feel the PDF is displaying correctly, as the above item/line is technically above the solid line.

It is not checked.  I tried printing with it checked and no change.  I'm pretty sure that prior today and other projects, the lines have printed solid.

- Which PDF printer?

- Can you show the full printer settings?

- Are the dash lines true black color or some version of almost-black such as RGB 1, 1, 1?

View is set to Hidden Line. However, we have a project parameter that sets all of the Specialty Equipment category to Wireframe. I think this was done to make the plans emulate CAD. But our newer families require that they not be wireframe to look correct. I did try printing it both with and without wireframe on the items.

Do you think it's the Line Merge? That setting fixed our issue with grey lines printing in front of black lines which my project managers find even more heinous.
