Cutting floors in section views like walls in floor plans?

Hello,

I actually have to split a floor above a room into two separate floor surfaces. So, until the middle of the room there is one part of floor, and beyond that point is another one floor part.

Such thing with walls I made using the Split Element command in floor plans, and it worked like a charm. After that I was able to select only one part of the wall I needed and assign special properties to it.

How to do the same thing with floors and it is actually possible to cut them in section views?

You can't really split floors in a section. You can edit the sketch in plan to make two different floors.

You can use Parts to control and divide/assign different materials to different sub-layers in a compound floor assembly.

Thanks. It seems that my only hope is to use Add Split Line command and divide the floor in two parts. However, I couldn't find a way to select the floor in section view (because I need to make a really precise cut) and than go to 3D or some floor plan view to cut it properly. Do you know how I can do that?

So, the part of floor between two walls has to be cut out (separate part).

Try using Join Geometry.

So, what you are saying is that your walls aren't supported by the floor. In that case, why don't you just remove the floor under the wall by using the Join tool.  This will reduce the volume of the floor. Reverse Join Order, and the opposite will happen: wall volume will be reduced.

Thanks. That is fine, but for this example only. In other cases, I would like to literary cut the floor in two pieces. Although I managed to click on the floor I need to modify in 3D, and I went to Split Line, I still couldn't cut out the part of floor of separate in two. There is a blue line I made in the center of the floor, but the floor is still one part. So, this is how it looks in 3D:

To split a floor, copyclip it and paste align in place, then edit the boundary of each copy and draw the split line then trim the boundary.
