Cut Profile and Ceiling Fill Pattern Lineweights are the same

I am working on updating the lineweights and object styles for our company's new and improved template. I have come across a problem:

The cut profile is controlled by lineweight 2. The ceiling material fill pattern lineweight is also controlled by lineweight 2. I do not believe there is any way to change either of these settings, either in view templates or in graphics overrides.

However, I want the cut profile to be the same weight as my wall/ceiling/floor cut linewieght (so it looks continuous) but I do NOT want my ceiling fill pattern to be that thick. Is there another way to accomplish the right graphic display without using filled regions?

as far as i know there isn't a way to change the weight of the pattern used in a ceiling, but you should be able to set  the Cut weight for any of the mentioned items in the Object styles.

first off, make sure the Thin LIne option is not selected in the Quick Access Tool bar....

in my case my cut weight for my wall is 4, the ceiling is set to 1 (it only modified the perimeter line of the ceiling). you should be able to accomplish the same in a VT by setting the overrides.

You are correct; Fill Pattern line weight cannot be changed.  You could change its print weight though through Additional Settings=>Line Weights.

So you want the red to show the same as the green?  They are all cut profiles, red are subtraction and green are addition.

And, by the way, it has nothing to do with Cut pattern lineweight, nor it pertain to only ceilings category.  It is universal.

how does changing the line weight in the additional settings help? i understood OP's question as setting the cut pattern of the Ceiling to the same as the Wall (other cut content).

Maybe I'm misreading. Is the OP not talking about"FILL PATTERN LINEWEIGHTS" as the title indicates?

You are correct, I want all of the cut profile lines to be the same as the cut lineweight of the wall. Now I am confused, when I started using cut profiles a few months ago, I would have sworn I figured out/looked up that the weight of the cut profile line is controlled by lineweight 2. So I changed the lineweights accordingly and had no issues until I wanted to draw a reflected ceiling plan and rediscovered that the filled pattern of ceilings is also controlled by lineweight 2 (which is now really thick to match the cut weight of a wall). Am I wrong about the lineweight of the cut profile being controlled by lineweight 2?

Line weights are controlled by Category through Object Styles dialog box.  What you may be experiencing is Join Geometry behavior (e.g. Joined Geometry sharing the same Line Weight).

It is controlled by the projection Line Weight, which is 2 by default.  I changed it to 4 in the image below.

You should not change it in Object Styles because it woould affect the ceiling surface pattern line weight.  Change it via view's VG.

Guess you were right, @hmunsell.  This thread has absolutely zero to do with Fill Pattern Lineweight.  I think the OP just threw that in there to confuse the readers.  😉

My brain is simple. It only registers "Cut profile", the rest is just noise.
