Curtain Walls and doors

Anybody experienced any problems with doors embedded into curtain walls? We experienced a weird thing with our curtain walls the other day when we noticed that all the doors in curtain walls had disappeared. Without any reason, it seemed. Then we found out that if you pin the curtain wall and then try to pin the door as well, the door disappears. If you pin the door first and then the curtain wall, the result is the same, the door disappears. It also happens if you pin both of them at the same time. Then we found out that it is a thing with the curtain walls. If you pin the door into the curtain wall, the curtain wall resumes its original form, i.e. the shape and attributes before the door was placed.

My question is, is there any way both of these could be pinned? Why? We would like the have building elements that have been decided to be built as planned pinned to their place so that they could not be edited by mistake.

Maybe set the curtain panel to None?

Yes. If the CW has a specific panel type assigned to it, and you unpinned a panel to change it to a door, then when you rejoin the door will be reversed to the original panel type. That is how it override and un-override work. Set you CW panel type to None is a good advice.

Thank you for your quick response! Yes, it´ll help but we still cannot pin the door, which is our main goal here. We are trying to keep elements that have been approved locked in place so that the design process can go forward and that we would not have to worry about them to disappear in the middle of the on going construction. But it also helps that we are aware of the "problem" and act accordingly. Thank you again.

If you want the door locked in place then you just need to pin the curtain grids around the door.
