Curtain system grid rotation on mass

I have placed a curtain system on an in place mass and I can not get the instance to adjust the grid angle.  I drew one side of the form and was able to see an angle instance input under the grids and then when I went to the other side, the grid angle instance field was gone.  I can not get the curtain wall grid to be at 0 degrees, it is fanning to the shape of the form i.e. instead of being parallel lines, it fans out to equally distribute to the form face.

This reference is exactly my issue.  I get the concept of the work around and will give it a try.  I don't understand how I got the first face to have an instance that does have a field for grid angle and moving forward I do not have that instance field.  Is it possible that I deleted the option for a grid angle? 

 

If you look at my attachment, the curtain grid on the left has the grid fanning.  I do not have grid option to set the angle.  If you look at the right side you can see the verticals all nice and parallel as I want, when I hit the properties of this grid it does have an option for a grid angle.

And here is how I propose to fix it.

 

Do not use Curtain System on the non-planer surface.  Divide the surface using intersect with reference planes.

I have a sense that I may have warped the in place mass I had created and the two end faces may have been slightly curved and the curved sides could not create an angle instance.  I wish there was a way to lock the in place mass to keep it from being sensitive to this.  Also, the grips and the distance fields are hard to position.

 

I ended up drawing a bunch of masses and eventually was able to replicate what I wanted.  I think what I found was that when you clicked on an in place mass you saw within it a series of arrows up and sideways.  Perhaps for some reason you might not be able to do all sides?

 

I appreciate the work around approaches.  I find it somewhat frustrating to have to back up a work flow and come at it from a different approach because Revit doesn't like something and can not tell you.  Once I am an expert and can figure out a hundred ways to skin a cat, it won't be a problem, but it is frustrating.

It is easy to incidentally bend a face of a mass when you are working with conceptual mass. To 'flatten' it, somehow you have to create a reference plane where the face is supposed to be, and drag the vertices of the face to sit on the plane.
