Creation elements preferences

Hi, i have a beginner issue.

When I create a new element line model or reference plane, i cant lock the start or end point to an existing reference because when i click the end of the new line/plane automatically starts creating a new one. And i cant lock for example the end of the line with other reference.

Reference Planes don't have an end point. Use Reference Lines.  

TAB-Select to cycle selection to the end POINT. It's clearly distinguishable. It's a DOT.
