Creating Walls - Material definitions

Hello,

I'm learning how to create or personalize type of walls.

I created an architectural wall named Basic Wall of 100mm Brick. I can properly see it in the preview. But when I start drawing in floor plans, I can't see the color of the brick when being cut.

Change the scale and the detail level of the view then you will see the layers as defined in the wall assembly.

I would move the finish layers out of the core. I noticed you have a 1 mm paint layer. That is very tiny and normally not being modeled in working projects. But if you want to experiment then I guess it is okay.

Toan's reply is surely straight to the point however I thought that you should know that finish layers do not really need to be outside the core. Sometimes or in some situations they need to be in the core in order to achieve a specific representation or to achieve a specific join to other elements. You might find it helpful or you might not (I can't be sure) but Autodesk has defined really thoroughly on their knowledge network and they explain wall properties as well as layer priorities and join order ....see links below

its just some 15-20 mins of reading, it's better than any Revit Book out there and it's free 🙂
